Punjab Da Puttar

Punjab Da Puttar, Bobby Deol may appear tough from outside but we have discovered what rattles him. Whenever he gets free time, Bobby catches as many films as he can of various genres.Ask Bobby about the films that he loves watching and he says "I am extremely passionate about watching films when I am not shooting. I love action, thrillers and comedy." But just like films Bobby's very selective. "I just don't like to watch horror films. Those films are so gruesome and bloody. Too much special effect makes them look so yucky. I don't know how people watch horror films? I often close my eyes when somebody is watching it or just walk out of the room. I can't stand such films" he reveals.Bobby is presently working on just one film with his dad Dharmendra titled Cheers being directed by Sangeet Sivan. Nothing exciting has come my way. I am waiting for it. I will be doing another film with Sameer Karnik but nothing has been finalized," he concludes.Bobby's next release is Yeh Vaada Raha starring Kangana Ranaut and his Nanhe Jaisalmer co-star Dwij Yadav

Neetu Chandra

Fortunately for us, there exists a certain word such as ‘overdose’! The A-line top by itself is quite charming but would’ve done better without the tangerine scarf with bobbles all over the place! Yes, orange and yellow are quite the trend this dull grey weather, but who ever said together?! The bronze chunky bangles and chappals and terribly mismatched white hoops do nothing to save the outfit and in fact pull it further down on our index! Too bad, girl

Hook Ya Crook Movie

Mumbai, Feb 11 (IANS) David Dhawan's 'Hook Ya Crook' seems to be going through a casting musical chair - first Irrfan Khan was replaced by Kay Kay Menon and then Uday Chopra opted out and was replaced by Shreyas Talpade.
Now the latest casting glitch in 'Hook Ya Crook' is Aditya Pancholi. Last week Aditya sat down with Dhawan to hear the script and decided he didn't like his character and decided to opt out.
'It was a mutual decision. Aditya and I sat together. And when we saw what his role finally shaped into, I suggested that he opt out,' Dhawan told IANS.
A hunt is on for a last-minute replacement.
'But I'm not worried. I'm very happy with whatever we've shot so far. John Abraham has proved he's a pro at cricket. We've shot two cricket scenes with him. And they have turned out brilliantly. 'Hook Ya Crook' has a huge ensemble cast. I'm not surprised at the changes in the cast. Good that they're happening now than later,' said Dhawan.
Aditya seems to have become the master of opt-outs. In the last one year, he has opted out of Sanjay Gupta's 'Acid Factory', Boney Kapoor's 'Wanted', Murugadoss' 'Ghajini' (where Aditya was offered the title role) and now 'Hook Ya Crook'. While refusing to comment on what transpired with Dhawan, Aditya said: 'If I'm not convinced about my role then there's no fun in working on a project

Big B was very much impressed by MJ’s style

The world is yet to recover from the loss of King of Pop. Many great personalities have shared their heart felt condolence over the great legendary singer. Here, we have some excerpts from the blog of the Bollywood icon, Amitabh Bachchan, who expressed his views on Michael Jackson and regretted deeply over the singer’s loss. Big B was very much impressed by MJ’s style, “His body moved like a wound up toy machine. Every conceivable action of rhythm and style was incorporated inside his diminutive form without any blemish. The exhilaration that he provided became synonymous with the ultimate. He was the impossible.” It is said that Big B had a brief encounter with MJ, way back in 90s and he was very pleased about the singer’s down-to-earth mannerism, for MJ was “Soft spoken, very humble and most polite.” The megastar also revealed the first time he saw young Michael Jackson and how he grew up to become world’s star icon.He penned his feeling, “An exceptional artist has gone. Someone who created an almost outer world experience for all of us with his art.”

No taking chances now: King Khan

Ra 1’ has been put on hold again. Reason – Shah
Rukh Khan, the hero of the movie, is actually not fit enough to carry on the movie. The Baadshah of Bollywood experienced a shoulder injury and had not come out of the injury still completely. Directed by Anubhav Sinha, ‘Ra 1’ is a science fiction story and involves lots of action and body strain and so our SRK, who plays a superhero, is not confident to do the movie at present because of his bad shoulder.
After his surgery, SRK started shooting for Karan Johar’s My Name is Khan, which he will soon complete. However, he decided to temporarily put 'Ra 1' on hold as he is required to do some serious action sequences in the film. SRK decided to push 'Ra 1' to 2010 after he recently went for a check-up in the US where he is currently shooting for Karan’s film. After the check-up, SRK felt the time is not right to do the action film as there is quite a high risk that his injury will aggravate if he doesn’t take it easy. Now, SRK has decided to first start Farah Khan’s film ‘Happy New Year’.
It was believed that Shah Rukh was really looking forward to act for this movie but had to give in to his bad health.
Oh, Shah Rukh, we wish you get well soon!

Rajnikanth will romance Aishwarya Rai Bachchan in a glass chamber in Endhiran

Rajnikanth, the South Indian superstar is busy in the shooting of his next movie “Endhiran” with Aishwarya Rai Bachchan as his female co-star. Rajnikanth is extremely popular in the South and his last movie Shivaji was a huge hit not only in the south but had a very good response all over India and abroad. This movie Endhiran is another huge budget movie and is mainly a science fiction film. The director S Shankar has now got a glass chamber-like structure created in order to shoot a song from the movie. Sources say that it took almost two weeks for the chamber to be created and a few shots from the song will be done there. The budget of this movie is supposedly around 140 crore rupees and it might be the most expensive movie made in India till date. In the movie, Rajnikanth plays a double role of a scientist and a robot. This might be another south movie which is expected to break many box office records

A R Rahman gets 3 Oscar Nominations for Slumdog Millionaire

Everyone had high expectations from A R Rahman at the Oscars after he became the first Indian to win a Golden Globe award for his Background Score in Slumdog Millionaire. But not only has A R Rahman got an Academy Award Nomination but he has got 3 nominations at the Oscars with Best Music (Score) for Slumdog Millionaire, Best Music (song) for Jai Ho song of Slumdog Millionaire and Best Music (song) for O Saya song of Slumdog Millionaire. He has a very high chance of winning in both the categories. He has already won the Background Score at the Golden Globe Award which is regarded as a preview to the Oscars. And in the other category Best Music (song) he has got two nominations out of the three nominations in the category and will only need to compete with Peter Gabriel and Thomas Newman for their song “Down to Earth” in “Wall E”. In two of his nominations namely Best Music (song) for “Jai Ho” and Best Music (song) for “O Saya”, he shares the nomination with Gulzar (who has penned the lyrics of Jai Ho) and Maya Arulpragasam (who has penned the lyrics of O Saya with Rahman) respectively. Rahman was elated with the three nominations saying he had never expected three nominations but the “King of Indian Music” remained humble as ever. Rahman was with his family at his home in Chennai when the nominations were announced and he said that he was feeling on top of the world after the nominations. Rahman could not attend the Indian premiere of Slumdog Millionaire in Mumbai as he had to give the final touches to the musical score of Rakyesh Omprakash Mehra’s Delhi 6. He thanked all Indians for the love and prayers bestowed upon him. He also thanked all the technicians, musicians and all those who have been a part of his music throughout the years. He was grateful to God and he thanked the Almighty for his success. He also congratulated and thanked the whole team of Slumdog Millionaire and hoped that he might bring India’s first Oscar. The whole team of Slumdog Millionaire and the whole of Bollywood were also thrilled with Rahman’s nominations and Irrfan Khan (who was also part of the movie) said that he hoped A R Rahman wins one Oscar at least, lyricist Gulzar also said that A R Rahman should win an award while Hrithik Roshan simply bowed to show his respect to A R Rahman. There were many others like Shabani Azmi, Javed Akhtar, Ila Arun (who sung Ringa Ringa with Alka Yagnik), Sukhvinder Singh (who sung Jai Ho), filmmaker Yash Chopra, Anil Kapoor (who was the anchor of the show in the movie) and Preity Zinta who also congratulated A R Rahman for the nominations

NEW YORK

New York, produced by Aditya Chopra under Yash Raj Films and directed by Kabir Khan, has been in the news since it was announced. It has a dream team in John Abraham, Katrina Kaif, Neil Nitin Mukesh and Irrfan Khan. Here are the highlights:-The film tells about three students whose lives changed post 9/11. It brings to light the increasing prejudices after the great tragedy. Director Kabir Khan revealed that New York is set within the context of 9/11 and talks about the repercussions of such attacks. John Abraham, the lead actor of the film, said that New York begins where Khuda Kay Liye ends. One of the highlights of New York is its music composed by Pritam with lyrics written by Sandeep Srivastava and Junaid Wasi. The audio album of the film, consisting of 7 tracks and an instrumental, was released on June 10. The songs have turned huge hit amongst the music lovers.New York was also in the news for things that had nothing to do with the makers of the film. The casting itself hit the headlines hard for the simple reason that Katrina Kaif acts with John Abraham, who is Katrina's boyfriend Salman Khan's bitter enemy. And as the news of the intimate scenes involving Katrina and John leaked to the media, the situation has turned worse. Salman is said to be not happy with Katrina for doing the bold sequences with his enemy. That was not all. Katrina Kaif and Neil Nitin Mukesh were praising each other to heaven a few days ago, and that too through the media. Katrina said Nitin is the cutest amongst the present Bollywood actors and he paid back in double fold by describing her as the cutest and sexiest actress. So much has been talked about New York, its cast and crew. It looks promising from the outset but we'll come to know its true colour only when it hits the theatres tomorrow. Watch out guys!
