kareena made her mark in the film industry

Flag bearer of the most reputed and ancient families in Bollywood, Kareena Kapoor made her mark in the film industry, not through her enviable lineage, but because of oodles of talent that she posses and her hard work.
Prithviraj Kapoor, a pioneer of Indian theater and Hindi film industry, is her great grand father. Her grandfather Raj Kapoor is widely considered as Bollywood's original showman. Her parents Babita and Randhir Kapoor were both actors so was her grand father's brothers Shashi Kapoor and Shammi Kapoor and her uncles Rishi Kapoor and Rajiv Kapoor. Her sister Karisma Kapoor was one of the most successful actresses of the 90's.
Beboo, as she is fondly called, has a reputation of being a spontaneous actress. Just before the shots, she would be seen fooling around but once the camera is switched on, she transforms to the mood of the character so fast that she has surprising and won accolades from all of her co-stars and directors she has worked with.
Kareena is known for speaking her mind without thinking about its consequences and was misconceived as being arrogant, during her initial stages. For cheap publicity, some actresses would make some crude remarks about her, knowing that she would retort, but with age, she has wised-up.
Kareena's schooling was at Jamnabai Narsee School, Mumbai and then she went to Welham Girl's Boarding School, Dehradun and later Harvard summer school, for a short-term course in microcomputers and information technology. She then took an admission in Government Law College at Churchgate, after completing one year there, she realized that acting is what she want as a career and attended the Kishore Namit Kapoor acting school.
Kareena made an unconventional and rather bold debut along with Abishek Bachachan in J.P Dutta's Refugee (2000). Her performance got her rave reviews and filmmakers started queuing up at her door for her dates. But she then had to put up with a bad phase, when some of her much awaited films like 'Ashoka' and 'Yaadein' didn't do well but still she had more offers coming her way and producers were ready to give double her market price, realizing her potential. Such reaction from producer's part was unheard of in Bollywood, where usually actress of a flop film is sidelined.
Even though she was not the heroine in 'Kabhi Khushi Kabhie Gham', her performance as 'poo' was widely appreciated and the film also did well in box office. Then came 'Chameli', in which she played a prostitute. It fetched her lot of critical acclaim and she didn't had to look back after that. 'Aitraaz' and 'Hulchul' followed which were also successful. Critics as well as the audiences were taken aback by her acting prowess in 'Omkara', and her special dance appearance in 'Don' was also appreciated. She has a lot of prestigious projects coming up like Milenge Milenge with Shahid Kapoor, Bajirao Mastani with Salman Khan, Kismat Talkies with Hrithik Roshan, Lajjo with Aamir Khan directed by Mani Ratnam and Yash Raj's next film.
Kareena is currently dating Shahid Kapoor. A huge controversy erupted when a news channel released a video clipping of her kissing her boyfriend Shahid

katrina akshay

The reigning queen of Bollywood, Katrina Kaif, after breaking away from her cute Barbie doll image via NEW YORK, is on way to put up another superb display of histrionics in Rajkumar Santoshi's AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI, where she stars opposite teenage heartthrob Ranbir Kapoor

If sources are to be believed Katrina Kaif is not just a pretty face in the unusual love story but her character is very complex. She plays a nerd, a complete geek, similar to her favourite co-star
Akshay Kumar's nerd act in JAAN-E-MANN. Katrina essays the role of a very sensitive girl who over-reacts to situations and gets troubled by very small things. Naturally, through her behaviour she makes people laugh, who find her funny. Katrina admits that this is one of a kind role, the sort not delved into by many and that she was trained into doing this kind of comedy by none other than the captain of the ship, the director Rajkumar Santoshi. Well, this sure makes AJAB PREM KI GHAZAB KAHANI more interesting and one of the many reasons to check out the comeback vehicle of one of the best directors of the nineties, who was instrumental in Sunny Deol winning his only National award via DAMINI.

Himesh makes satish kaushik extra cautios

production houses; even big producers are now hesitant about investing their money in exceptionally exorbitant projects. Recently when we asked actor-director turned producer Satish Kaushik about his forthcoming venture HHEY GUJJU starring Himesh Reshammiya in a double role, which was scheduled to go on floors last year, his reply took us by surprise. We were taken aback when he said, 'HHEY GUJJU is very close to my heart. But considering the fact that cession has already hit India, and the film demanded advance action and various foreign locations for the shoot; we felt the need to keep it on hold for some time.'
CHECK OUT : Wonder what moved Himesh? Meanwhile, Satish Kaushik who turned co-producer with close pal Anupam Kher under Karol Bagh productions is all set to release their second film TEREE SANG on 7th August. It must be recalled that Karol Bagh's first production KARZZZ starring Himesh bombed at the box-office. Considering all these facts it seems the phrase 'once bitten, twice shy' perfectly befits this case!

Shahid Kapur sports six pack abs in ‘Kaminey’

Chocolate boy of Bollywood, Shahid Kapur, can be looked up on as more than a cute face now.
He will soon be seen sporting his macho six-pack abs and flaunting his long hair in the promos of his upcoming flick ‘Kaminey’. The film also stars Priyanka in the lead role.
Donning a completely new look for the flick, Shahid would reportedly be seen shedding his ‘cute guy image’.
He can be seen running in front of a pack of horses in the promos of the film, and his macho look is even more evident in the film’s rocking track, ‘Dhan Te Nan’.
Having about 250 extras to probably give it that authentic feel and shot in an actual pub, this song is going to be the show stealer. The song as Shahid as lean mean, unkempt dude, who sways to the intoxicating beats of Gulzar’s composition.

Salman Khan threatens Vivek Oberoi

Actor Vivek Oberoi caused a Bollywood sensation on Tuesday with his claim at a press conference that fellow actor Salman Khan had abused him and threatened to kill him, accusing him of having a string of affairs with a number of top actresses, including Aishwarya Rai, a former close friend of Salman's. When the news began circulating, few were willing to believe it - and most passed it off as an April Fool's Day joke. This changed after Vivek Oberoi called a press conference at his house to confirm the story.
Vivek told reporters that on a single night Salman had called him up on the phone 41 times to abuse him and to threaten that he would come over to his house and "kill him." He said Aishwarya Rai had also received a number of abusive text messages on her cell phone. Vivek said he had informed the police about these threats and added that he would file a formal complaint against Salman Khan soon. He said the police had offered him protection, but he had refused this. When asked about the matter, Salman Khan laughed over Oberoi's statement that he had threatened his life and added that he had "nothing to say about his allegation."
Vivek said Salman had abused him over his alleged close relationships with actresses Rani Mukherjee, Diya Mirza, Somy Ali and, of course, Aishwarya Rai. The actor made it clear that unlike other top Bollywood figures who had in the past been at the receiving end of Salman Khan's tantrums and abusive behaviour, he was not willing to forgive and forget because Salman was a "disturbed" man. "If he is a disturbed man, his family should keep him locked up in the house and get him treated. It is high time that the family started taking responsibility for their brattish son who keeps behaving like a school bully. It is high time someone took a stand," said Oberoi.
Vivek, son of actor Suresh Oberoi, said he had called up Salman's brothers - Arbaaz and Sohail - and informed them about their sibling's behaviour. He claimed that the two, with whom he said he had excellent relations, had apologised for Salman's threats. Vivek said the Salman phone drama began at 12.30 a.m. and went on till 5 a.m., and many of the 41 calls had gone unattended. Salman's language, he said, was so derogatory that "I can't even repeat it…"
The language got even dirtier, Oberoi said, when Khan started talking about Rani Mukherjee, Diya Mirza, Aishwarya Rai and Somy Ali. "I haven't met Somy Ali for over eight years… how can he link me up with her? He didn't even spare Gurpreet, my ex-fiancee… I tried to calm him down, knowing very well that he was under the influence of alcohol. But the guy went on to abuse my father and didn't leave even his own father." "I lost my cool after that, and told him to mind his language.
When asked if Salman Khan had threatened to use his alleged underworld connection, Oberoi said, "He implied that, by saying you don't know my connections and that he could get me killed." Oberoi said besides Aishwarya Rai, his co-stars Rani Mukherjee and Diya Mirza were also supporting him. Vivek added that he had gone to Chennai the following day and was told by friends not to come back to Mumbai since Salman's bodyguards were on the lookout for him and were using threatening language: "Usne bhai ke sath burra kiya, iska anjaam acha nahin hoga."
Vivek Oberoi, who is yet to file an FIR, now places "the responsibility on the media and society to take a stance" since he has already taken a "major stand" against Salman. Though Vivek maintained he was planning to meet the police today to discuss possible legal action, Joint Commissioner (Crime) Dr Satya Pal Singh said there was no meeting scheduled.
No, I 'm not manipulating the media. I think now it's the media's responsibility to mobilise the issue," said the young actor, brushing aside accusations about using the press. "What Salman has done has been ignored far too long, nobody has taken a stance before." In the same breath, he added "I want to cordially resolve the issue now, but there has been no call from the family, which is in denial and in no mood to resolve the issue." Salman's younger brother, actor Arbaaz Khan, dismissed Vivek's allegations as "false and baseless". "Salman is a bigger star than Vivek. To become a star everyone in the industry is targeting Salman," Arbaaz told reporters.
Commenting on yesterday's tamasha, actress Urmila Matondkar said: 'I have nothing to say about both the actors, but it's ridiculous that the media is lapping up anything offered to them." Other Bollywood heavyweights concurred, "At these times when we are on the precipice of a holocaust, I treat this silly issue with disdain," said director Mahesh Bhatt.
Director Kunal Kohli said he supports Vivek fully "on an ideological level since Salman was clearly out of line". However, he added: "It's unfortunate the film industry is getting a bad rep, and is being cast in a bad light. Not everyone agrees with Vivek's method, though. "This story has gained mileage at the expense of critical war coverage," said Salman's friend and fashion designer Vikram Phadnis. "Vivek could have solved this problem privately. He should have tried to settle it amicably. It's unfair that Vivek has focused on Salman's flaws, raking up unrelated incidents from the past."
Interestingly, Vivek Oberoi has made an inroad into the advertising industry. This one has Ash too, and hopes to grab the youth by their eyeballs when it is premiered today. It doesn't hurt that the ad is coming out close on the heels of the Vivek-Salman Khan controversy. Vivek's rumoured-but-strongly-denied romance with Ash also adds to the buzz.

Salman khan the gladiator khan

As if Yuvvraaj was not enough to prove Salman Khan that he is no more saleable in Bollywood, he has decided to make a movie with swords, horses and palaces. Veer is directed by Anil Sharma… yeah, the same guy who made Hero. I know you have already decided to skip Veer hearing Anil Sharma’s name. The most interesting part of this movie is that Salman Khan has himself written the story. Yeah, Katrina Kaif had gifted him the DVDs of Gladiator, 300 and Troy, so Sallu bhai decided to make use of it.Are you asking that why Katrina is not in the movie? Well, who would want to work in an already declared flop movie? So Salman bhai decided to get two Katrina lookalikes – Zarine Khan and Liza Lazarus. You know how obsessed he is with lookalikes… remember Sneha Ullal, the Aishwarya lookalike? Hope Zarine and Liza don’t end up like her.

Imran khan have a great relationship with studio 18

It is a romance set in Paris. But her excitement fizzled out when the final script turned out to be different from the one narrated to her. Changes were made in the script according to Imran Khan’s demands. Our source said, “Studio 18 had roped in Imran and Katrina for the film directed by Gadhvi. Katrina was very kicked about the film and rehearsed for it enthusiastically. The costumes were finalised and the film was set to roll from June 25. Meanwhile, Imran suggested some changes to the script, which reduced Katrina’s role considerably. This did not go down too well with her. Considering that she is playing major roles in all her other films, she had second thoughts about doing bit roles. So she eventually bowed out of the film. Katrina already has a two-film deal with the production house and will work with them in some other film. The makers are now searching for a replacement for her.”
Imran can’t be blamed for putting his foot down after the disastrous Kidnap assaulted the viewers’ intelligence. The source added, “When Imran worked with Gadhvi in Kidnap, the director had refused to show him even a single frame before its release and the film bombed. So this time, Gadhvi has no choice but to bow down to the diktat of the actor.”

Katrina Kaif maintained a diplomatic stand. She said, “I am in talks about the film and have a great working relationship with Studio 18, but let the script materialise first. Then we will take a call.”

Despite repeated attempts, Sanjay Gadhvi remained unavailable for comment. Ditto Imran Khan

Ranbir kapoor Says

I know the audience seeks another Rishi Kapoor in me. But I can never be like him. He is such a spontaneous actor," Ranbir told IANS.
Interestingly, a hit song from his father's film "
Hum Kisise Kum Naheen" inspires the title of his second film "Bachna Ae Haseeno".
If given a chance to act in the remake of his father's super hit "
Bobby", Ranbir said he would love to romance Dimple Kapadia on screen.
"No one can play the role of Bobby like Dimple Kapadia did. She is still so beautiful and I would love to woo her on screen again if a remake is made," said the actor.
Ranbir was in town to promote "Bachna Ae Haseeno" that is releasing Friday. He will be seen romancing Minissha Lamba, Deepika Padukone and Bipasha Basu in the movie.
Talking about his role, Ranbir said it is not that of a Casanova as the title hints. "I play a next-door boy and the film is about his love life at different phases of life."
The actor says he wouldn't like to be confined in lover-boy image.
"In both 'Saawariya' and 'Bachna Ae Haseeno' I play a lover boy, but won't keep myself confined to that particular image. Give me two years and you will find me beating up goons and kicking in the air," said Ranbir who is expecting his film to do well at the box office.
"My first film 'Saawariya' was not a commercially hit one, though it was the best possible launch that one can ever have. But this time I expect my film to be a commercially hit one."
As for romancing his real-life love interest Deepika in the film, he said: "Both of us have just started our career. We would appreciate if people talk about the film and our characters instead of linking our personal life with the romance on-screen."
He also pointed out that Hindi film industry has grown highly competitive in the last couple of years and as a result all actors have to constantly reinvent themselves.
"Right from Amitabh Bachchan to Darsheel Safary - Bollywood has never been so competitive. Every day a new actor takes the reign. As a result we actors have to constantly groom ourselves," said Ranbir.
His other films are Prakash Jha's "Rajniti" and Rajkumar Santoshi's "
Ajab Prem

on-screen

Akshay Kumar has had to fight many on-screen adversaries in the past, but the challenges posed in his forthcoming film KAMBAKKHT ISHQ are far more formidable. In the film, he first locks horns with Kareena Kapoor, nicknamed Barbie Doll by one of her designers for her svelte look in this film. Then he locks lips with her - an incredible 10 times.
The producers of the film have not only packed the film with a battery of Hollywood stars like Slyvester Stallone, Brandon Routh and Denise Richards, they have also made sure Akki gets to kiss one of them. No 'pints' for guessing that we're talking about Hollywood sex siren of the 90s, Denise Richards, who has set the tone by conferring Akki with the title of a 'good kisser'. However, Bebo is still mum on his kissing prowess! With its release only a few days away, the film, which is based on the battle of sexes involving a shallow Hollywood stuntman and
an ambitious model, has already generated a lot of curiosity in the film industry. It remains to be seen whether all this anticipation amounts to anything at the Box Office. Ganesha uses Numerology and Vedic Astrology System to predict the fate of this film.

star Sunjay Dutt

Bollywood star Sunjay Dutt, who is expected to reach here next week to begin his campaign for the Lok Sabha elections as a Samajwadi Party candidate, will be greeted by hoardings that rake up his past and the criminal case against him.
Put up at over a dozen prominent places by a group that calls itself the Anti Terrorist Forum of Lucknow (ATFL), the hoardings read “Lucknow is our heaven, we do not want AK forty-seven”.
The hoardings also carry a big picture of the AK-47 rifle, mentioning that the terrorists who attacked Mumbai used it.
Dutt was convicted for illegal possession of an AK-47 rifle after the 1993 serial blasts in Mumbai. His appeal against the verdict is pending in the Supreme Court.
Last week, Samajwadi Party General Secretary Amar Singh had announced that Dutt would be the party’s candidate for the Lok Sabha elections from Lucknow and if the star was not allowed to contest the polls because of the ongoing criminal case against him, his wife Manyata would become the candidate.
“We are strictly against any candidate from any party who has a criminal background and our protest is not only against Sanjay Dutt,” said one of the founder members of ATFL, not willing to be named.
The member, a postgraduate student of Lucknow University, denied that his group had any association with any political party.
However, the Samajwadi Party strongly feels the hoardings have been put up at the behest of the state’s ruling Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP).
“All the hoardings have been put up at prime locations, which earlier used to flaunt the chief minister’s hoardings. This has been done to malign the image of our candidate. No one in the city could dare to put a hoarding in place of that of the chief minister if he didn’t have permission from the ruling party,” Shivpal Singh Yadav, the Samajwadi Party’s acting state president, said.
No one from the BSP was available for comment on the issue.
Dutt is not the first Bollywood personality to attempt a foray into politics from here. Muzaffar Ali twice contested from Lucknow on the Samajwadi Party ticket but he never won. Raj Babbar also tried his luck once from Lucknow but in vain. He later won the Agra seat on the Samajwadi Party ticket before quitting the party.
However, political analysts see a bright chance for Sanjay Dutt if he contests.
“Sanjay Dutt has a good chance in Lucknow. With the Samajwadi Party naming him as its candidate, Lucknow will witness a star contesting the election for the fourth time,” said Ramesh Dixit, who teaches political science at Lucknow University.
“On earlier occasions, no film star was successful in winning from this constituency. However, Sanjay has a very good chance of winning because he has some links with the city. After the partition of the country, his father Sunil Dutt came here with his family and lived in old Lucknow for a few years

Kareena replied......

According to reports in the media, Saif Ali Khan visited Kareena Kapoor at the IIFA awards, but rushed out of Bangkok due to a fight over a revealing costume Kareena wore during her stage performance. When asked about the unexpected visit of Saif, cKareena replied… “So sweet of him naa, he is coming

Govinda`s chal chla chal has no chance at the box office

Chal Chala Chal sees Govinda doing what he does best. In the film, Govinda plays Deepak, who changes jobs after every six months as he refuses to indulge in any kind of corruption. At the same time, he is helping his father Omkarnath (Om Puri) in a legal matter. Omkarnath, an ex-principal, is fighting a case against his school to get his pension and provident fund.Omkarnath wins the case, but the school lacks funds. As a compensation, he is handed over the school bus. Omkarnath gives it to Deepak, whose family members wish to sell the bus. However, Deepak follows Omkarnath's advice and starts a transport company Chal Chala Chal with financial help from his friend Sundar (Rajpal Yadav). Deepak faces crazy problems in his new journey and, once again, relies on his father's principles to fight the hurdles. The fact that the audience has lost faith in Govinda's typical run-of-the-mill entertainers can be seen from the dismal opening the film took on the first day, attracting just a handful of viewers. Die-hard Govinda fans, however, did not mind watching him do the same thing, those looking out for some different were surely disappointed. Rajpal Yadav was praised for his supporting role. Overall, the poor opening indicates director Rajiv Kumar's debut film has no chance at the box office
